Social media influencer Jarvis has issued a public apology to the esteemed Oba of Benin following a controversy involving her boyfriend, Peller.
The apology comes after Peller reportedly made an unauthorised visit to the sacred Benin Palace, an act that provoked public outrage and caught the attention of the Benin Traditional Council.
The council condemned the visit as a violation of palace protocols, stressing that all visitors must honor the longstanding customs of the Benin Kingdom.
In a heartfelt message, Jarvis asked for mercy and understanding on her boyfriend’s behalf, highlighting the need to respect both the Oba and the palace traditions.
During a live video, she pleaded, “I will not be single to stupor… please, please, forgive him. Whether true or not, please, he should not face consequences. I beg you. I don’t want to remain single; I want to get married.”
She went on to appeal to the palace, expressing her hopes and concerns about her future marriage plans.
“My bride price must be paid, my partner will come to my state and pay my bride price without fear… please, have mercy on him, have mercy on us.”
