Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy recently paid a visit to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, March 17, has attracted attention online after photos from the encounter were shared.

In the images that have gone viral, the Afrofusion sensation, who recently achieved another milestone in his career, was seen wearing a stylish dark blue kaftan, standing alongside the governor in what appeared to be a friendly engagement.

Burna Boy, whose birth name is Damini Ogulu, was not alone during the visit. He was accompanied by his father, Samuel Ogulu, and renowned music executive Soso Soberekon.

The specifics of their discussion have not been disclosed. However, some observers speculate that the meeting could be linked to possible developmental initiatives in Rivers State, considering Burna Boy’s roots in the area.

This is not Burna Boy’s first visit to the Rivers State Government House. In 2021, he met with then-governor Nyesom Wike following a significant career achievement. That same year, after winning a Grammy Award, he was honoured with the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS), one of the state’s highest accolades.
