Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has expressed outrage following a reported courtroom incident in which a judge allegedly ordered his lawyer to kneel down.
Taking to social media, Sowore questioned the state of justice in the country, writing: “How do you expect justice in a country where a judge orders a solid lawyer to kneel down for insisting on cross-examining a fake witness presented by the lawless @OfficialDSSng?”
He commended his lawyer for standing firm during the incident, stating: “I am glad Barrister Marshal D. F. Abubakar stood his ground. He did not flinch.”
Sowore further alleged that the situation led to the judge, identified as Justice Mohammed G. Umar, adjourning the case and leaving the courtroom. “It was the judge, Justice Mohammed G Umar who had to adjourn and leave the courtroom. End of case!” he added.
The activist also criticized the Nigerian Bar Association, accusing it of inaction. “And you will never hear the Nigerian Bar Association do anything about this. They are only concerned about the tinted glass permit!”
He concluded his remarks with a strong statement: “Nigeria is finished!”
