Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has addressed criticism on social media following the death of a woman, Elena Jessica, reportedly linked to a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure in Lagos.

According to reports, Elena Jessica experienced severe complications after her second BBL surgery at Cynosure Clinic, which ultimately led to her passing.

In response to backlash, Uche Ogbodo shared her thoughts in a video on Instagram, acknowledging the risks associated with cosmetic procedures while challenging the criticism aimed at her.

“People are saying I’m promoting BBL even though someone recently died from it. Yes, BBL carries risks, but so do many other surgeries. People have complications from fibroid operations, C-sections, and even routine treatments,” she stated.

The actress emphasized the importance of being well-informed before undergoing any cosmetic procedure and urged individuals to seek care from reputable hospitals and qualified medical professionals. She also highlighted the need for proper aftercare to prevent infections and ensure recovery.

Uche, who had cosmetic surgery herself last year, has been an outspoken advocate for self-care and body positivity, encouraging women to prioritize their well-being without compromising their sense of identity, even after becoming mothers.
