Popular Nigerian pastor and founder of Jerry Eze recently became emotional while recounting a touching story about the woman who sponsored his education for many years.
While speaking during a church service, the cleric shared that his academic journey almost came to an end when he was in Junior Secondary School 3. According to him, his mother had informed him at the time that she could not afford the fees required for him to continue to senior secondary school.
Faced with the harsh reality, he said he had already begun considering learning a vocational skill such as tailoring, believing it might be his only path forward.
However, his life took an unexpected turn after a church service when a woman from his local congregation approached him. She explained that she and her husband felt divinely led to take responsibility for his education.
The pastor revealed that the couple went far beyond simply paying his school fees. From SS1 all the way through university, they funded his education and even welcomed him into their home, treating him as part of their family.
Reflecting on their kindness, Jerry Eze described the woman as someone who “saw tomorrow,” emphasizing that her generosity completely changed the direction of his life and opened doors he might never have experienced.
He also noted that the couple had no prior relationship with him. They were neither from his village nor his state, yet they chose to invest in his future after just meeting him at church.
Filled with gratitude, the pastor said his story is proof of God’s grace. He encouraged people never to look down on others, reminding them that no one truly knows where greatness may emerge from.
He concluded by praying for God’s continued blessings upon the couple, thanking them for the incredible role they played in shaping his journey.
