A 23-year-old female teacher in a Nigerian government school has shared her painful experience after allegedly being bullied and body-shamed by a Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1) student.

The teacher, who handles Civic Education, recounted that the incident occurred while she was teaching in class. She noticed a male student in the front row moving around and asked if he was okay. Although he initially responded “yes,” he later refused to sit properly.

According to her, as she stepped out of the classroom, the student shouted, “You no even fine sef,” and added, “You too wowo,” insulting her appearance.

The incident reportedly left the young teacher emotionally shaken. She revealed that it brought back painful memories of past body-shaming experiences she had endured growing up and in previous relationships.

Expressing her frustration, she called on parents to train their children properly and instill respect in them. She warned that careless words can have lasting consequences and urged families to take responsibility for their children’s behavior.
