Tension is rising in Rivers State following allegations that the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Eugene Chita Epelle, assaulted a teenage girl for exposing the poor condition of a government secondary school in her community.

The school, located in Oduoku Community, reportedly suffers from severe infrastructural decay. In a viral video, the teenager showed broken classrooms, lack of chairs and writing boards, missing windows, absence of electricity, and a shortage of teachers. She appealed to local authorities to urgently intervene, stressing that the future of the students was at risk.

According to residents, the school once had over 1,000 students but now reportedly has fewer than 100 due to its deteriorating condition.
