- A man has revealed he cancelled his wedding after seeing his bride’s mother publicly yell at her husband.
- He said the incident made him fear for his future marriage, prompting him to leave the venue and switch off his phone, ending the relationship.

A man has sparked debate online after sharing why he walked away from his wedding on the day of the ceremony.
The story, originally posted on X (formerly Twitter), detailed how a single incident at the venue made him rethink his decision to get married.
According to the groom, the issue began during preparations for family photographs. He claimed that his bride’s mother publicly yelled at her husband for lagging behind, an action he found disturbing.
“On my wedding day, my wife’s mother yelled at her husband because he was lagging behind for family pictures,” he wrote.
The man said the way she addressed her husband in public raised concerns about his future marriage. He feared that if his bride had grown up witnessing such behavior, she might repeat it in their relationship.
“I called my best man to the corner and told him I’m cancelling the wedding. Because if her mother can talk down on her husband in such a manner in public, I’m afraid her daughter will do worse,” he stated.
He explained that he created an excuse to leave the venue without causing immediate suspicion. Pretending to receive an urgent call, he told people he needed to pick up the wedding ring and then left. He later switched off his phone until the next day, effectively ending the marriage before it began.
The story has since generated mixed reactions online, with some people supporting his decision while others criticized him for overreacting to a single incident.
