- Many women mistakenly believe that incompatible relationships will improve over time.

Relationship counsellor and cleric, Kingsley Okonkwo, has outlined six types of men he says women should intentionally avoid, warning that dismissing red flags often ends in emotional pain and regret.
He pointed out that many women enter relationships that are clearly incompatible, convincing themselves that things will eventually improve. However, he stressed that time often reveals the warning signs were present from the beginning.
“Avoid Mr ‘I want to marry a virgin’ when you are not one,” he said. “And avoid the man who is 52 years old but wants to marry a 22-year-old. Bros, that should be your child’s mate.”
The cleric went on to highlight financial irresponsibility and unfulfilled promises as common pitfalls women tend to overlook, especially when emotions cloud judgment.
He added that ambition without discipline should not be mistaken for virtue, cautioning women not to confuse potential with real progress.
“Avoid Mr Perpetual perpetually broke, perpetually begging, and perpetually proud. Avoid Mr Potential all he has are plans but no action, big dreams but he cannot take small steps.”
Okonkwo also warned against men who constantly seek attention, shift blame onto women for their own lack of boundaries, or repeatedly complain about the supposed decline in the quality of women.
His remarks have sparked ongoing discussions online, particularly around responsibility, emotional growth, and making deliberate relationship decisions.
