A lady has sparked an online discussion after questioning the priorities of pastors in Nigeria, asking why many continue to focus on establishing churches rather than ventures that could directly benefit communities.
In a passionate statement, she criticized the emphasis on expanding church networks while essential societal needs remain largely unaddressed.
“So you pastors, God keeps calling you to open more churches. Even with the number of churches already in Nigeria, you are still being called to build more,” she remarked.
She suggested that religious leaders are seldom guided to create industries or programs that empower young people or provide critical services.
“The Holy Spirit and God rarely direct you to build infrastructure or start initiatives that help youth. It seems the focus is only on taking from those who have little, to build more churches and altars,” she added.
The woman pointed out the disparity between the number of religious institutions and basic social amenities.
“The churches in Nigeria don’t even come close to the number of schools or hospitals, yet pastors keep opening more churches,” she noted.
She concluded by questioning the purpose behind the constant church expansion.
“What is the goal of opening all these branches? Why isn’t the Holy Spirit calling pastors to create industries that assist the youth instead of just adding more churches?”
