“I Earn Your Monthly Salary in 2 Hrs”- US-Based Nurse Slams Doctors Who “Look Down on Nurses”

  • US-based Nigerian nurse Joy William said she earns in two hours what a Nigerian doctor earns monthly, urging professionals to seek growth opportunities and noting that location often affects financial rewards.

Joy William, a US-based Nigerian registered nurse, has stirred reactions online after claiming that she earns in just two hours what a Nigerian doctor makes in an entire month.

She shared the statement on X on Monday, February 16, 2026, while addressing Nigerian doctors who she said “look down on nurses.”

“For those of you Nigerian Dr who look down on Nurses just know that as a Registered Nurse, 2 hours is only what it takes me to earn what a Nigerian Doctor will earn in one month,” she wrote.

She added, “No long epistle, just a reminder that sometimes your destiny is heavily tied to your location. Same hard work. Same intelligence. Completely different reward.”

Encouraging professionals to seek better opportunities, she said, “If life gives you the opportunity to grow, relocate, or level up… take it. Comfort zones rarely change bank accounts.”

She concluded by acknowledging workers in Nigeria, stating, “Respect to every professional grinding back home, but never apologize for choosing a life that expands you.”

In other news…. Some members of the House of Representatives staged a walkout in protest after a motion was moved to rescind the passage of the Electoral Act Amendment bill.

Tempers flared when the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business proposed reversing the bill, which had originally been passed on December 23, 2025.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas put the motion to a voice vote. Although the “nays” were louder than the “ayes,” the Speaker ruled in favor of the ayes, sparking protests from several lawmakers.

Attempts to resolve the issue through an executive session failed, and lawmakers continued to object, particularly over Clause 60(3), which mandates the compulsory electronic transmission of results.

The aggrieved members prevented Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu from continuing proceedings before eventually walking out of the plenary, shouting “APC Ole” (“APC thieves”) as they left.
