Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested again shortly after securing her release from Suleja prison.
According to reports, the actress was re-arrested on Tuesday at the Suleja Correctional Centre moments after she was granted bail. The latest development is allegedly linked to her refusal to pay legal fees owed to the lawyer who assisted in securing her bail.
The reported re-arrest happened less than an hour after actor Stanley Ontop raised concerns on social media, alleging that there was a plan to take Angela back into custody immediately after her release.
Reacting to the situation, actress Doris Ogala shared a video on Instagram, revealing that she was heading to the police station after hearing about the incident. In the video, Doris alleged that Angela Okorie was re-arrested at the instance of an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) over an unpaid N5 million legal fee.

“You see, one thing is for someone to cut their clothes according to their size. Angela has been arrested again. As a matter of fact, I’m going to the police station now. You see, when Angela was arrested by Mercy, she called a friend of her or village person. I don’t know how they relate. To help her get a SAN.
“And the SAN charged them N5 million. I think the SAN was the one who even facilitated the bail and all that. Now when Angela knew that they have granted her bail according to the lady, Angela started saying that she didn’t ask her to get a SAN and she wasn’t going to pay the money, and meanwhile this lady has deposited.”
Angela Okorie was earlier granted bail on Friday following her arrest, which stemmed from a petition filed by fellow actress Mercy Johnson over alleged defamation. Reports indicate that she had just completed and perfected her bail conditions before the fresh arrest was carried out.
As of the time of this report, Angela Okorie and her legal representatives have not made any official statement addressing the claims surrounding her alleged re-arrest.
