Ossai Ovie, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has voiced his disappointment over Chioma Adeleke’s choice of outfit at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In a post on his Facebook page, Ovie criticized the singer Davido’s wife for wearing what he described as a “half-naked” ensemble, saying it did not appropriately represent Nigerian culture.
He emphasized that, as a public figure, Chioma’s appearance on such an international stage carries influence and could impact young Nigerian women.
“I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s attire. She should not have appeared half-naked at the Grammys. Her outfit did not reflect Nigerian culture, instead showcasing a revealing Western style,” Ovie wrote.
He also called on Davido, as her husband, to have provided guidance. “Cultural representation is important. I am disappointed in Davido for allowing this,” he added.
Ovie’s comments have sparked online discussions about how public figures can balance personal fashion choices with cultural representation on global platforms.
