Student Detained Over AI-Generated Ayra Starr Image, Don Jazzy Allegedly Involved

A Nigerian social media user, Oluseyi Oluwasemilogo Ayinla, has reportedly been held at the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Ikoyi, for several weeks after sharing an AI-generated explicit image of music artist Ayra Starr.

Ayinla is said to have refused to remove the post despite warnings from online users, leading to his continued detention since December 30, 2025.

Online reports suggest that his arrest followed complaints from people associated with the singer, though the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.

The controversy intensified when an X user, @HeisMikel1, claimed that Don Jazzy, founder of Mavin Records, was behind the arrest. In the post, the user stated:

“You arrested this boy and took him to Lagos State FCID Alagbon Ikoyi since 30th of December 2025 and yet you speak against oppression. His mates have returned back to school but you are so relaxed living your life while someone’s son is behind bars, this is eve!l.”

As of this report, Don Jazzy has not commented on the claim.

Sources familiar with the situation disclosed that Ayinla’s bail terms require two guarantors who are Level 14 civil servants living in upscale Lagos neighborhoods such as Ikoyi or Lekki.
