Afrobeats Big 3 Have Different Powers – Seyi Sodimu Explains, Says Davido Could Win Governorship Election

Veteran Nigerian musician Seyi Sodimu has shared his views on the influence of Afrobeats stars Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, popularly referred to as the “Big 3.”

Speaking on the What I Know podcast hosted by Korty EO, with Shaffy Bello also present, the Love Me Jeje crooner said each of the trio commands a different type of influence.

According to him, Wizkid possesses a unique influence, Burna Boy’s influence is rooted mainly in music, while Davido’s influence extends far beyond the entertainment industry.

“The [Afrobeats] Big 3, each one is doing it for different reasons. Burna Boy has conquered the stage. And he is good. Wizkid is special. And Davido surpasses music,” he said.

Sodimu went further to suggest that Davido’s influence could translate into political success.

“What do I mean by that? If Davido ran for governor today, he would win. But I don’t think Burna Boy could win as a governor,” he added.

This is not the first time Davido has been linked to political leadership. In 2025, former senator Ben Murray-Bruce predicted that the singer could one day become the governor of Osun State, where his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, currently serves as governor.
