Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has reacted strongly to Samuel Chukwueze’s missed penalty during Nigeria’s painful defeat to host nation Morocco in the semi-final of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, January 14, in Rabat.

The Super Eagles fought hard against the Atlas Lions for 120 exhausting minutes, with both sides unable to break the deadlock, forcing the encounter into a penalty shootout.

Nigeria had the chance to edge ahead when Chukwueze stepped up to take the team’s second penalty. However, the winger’s effort lacked power and was comfortably saved by Morocco’s goalkeeper.

Moments after the match, Nkechi Blessing, who watched the game live, took to her Instagram page to express her displeasure over the miss. She wrote:

“Samuel Chukwueze make I no talk wetin dey my mind. You dey play penalty like woman, even me no fit play that kind ball.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian music star Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, also suffered a major loss following the Super Eagles’ elimination from the tournament.

The singer reportedly lost a ₦75 million bet after Nigeria crashed out of the 2025 AFCON semi-final against Morocco. Earlier on January 14, Davido had shared screenshots of his bet slip on X and Instagram, showing that he staked $50,000 estimated at about ₦75 million on Nigeria to win via the crypto betting platform, Stake.
