‘Ongoing Lawsuit Has Cost Me Deals, I’ll Never Be Alone With Female Colleagues Again’- Jason Derulo

  • Jason Derulo has spoken out about the revived sexual harassment lawsuit filed by singer Emaza Dilan, explaining that the nearly two-year legal battle has forced him to adopt a strict new professional boundary.
  • Although the case was dismissed twice in California and Nevada, it has now been refiled in New York, and Derulo says the ongoing controversy has cost him brand deals and industry relationships.
  • He stated that he now avoids ever being alone with female colleagues to protect himself from future accusations

Jason Derulo addressed the long-running sexual harassment case against him in a new interview with Graham Bensinger, revealing a strict professional rule he now follows as a result of the nearly two-year ordeal.

The interview comes as the lawsuit, filed by singer Emaza Dilan, was recently refiled in New York, despite having been dismissed twice in California and Nevada courts. Derulo claims the situation continues to cost him professional opportunities.

As for the rule impacting his approach to work and life, he said: “Never work with women.”

He elaborated: “I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again. That case was dismissed twice. And I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable. Why didn’t they post the dismissal at least? Wouldn’t that be fair?”

Derulo also rejected one of the more extreme claims made against him, saying it accused him of “sacrificing a goat in a sexual ritual.” He labeled the allegation “not even slightly believable.”

As the case moves forward in New York, he maintains that publicly defending himself comes with its own risks, noting, “It seems like there’s no winning.”
