Shola Allyson recently shared insights into her music and the philosophy behind her creative choices, explaining why she doesn’t explicitly mention Jesus in her songs.
Speaking with Oyinmomo TV, she stated, “I’m not a religious singer… My name is Shola Allyson. I’m a singer.”
She addressed the expectations of critics who anticipate references to Jesus in her music, clarifying that her songs are not intended as public declarations of her faith.
“Jesus never told us to mention His name in every song, nor did He ask us to promote Him,” she explained.
Shola Allyson also discussed aspects of her personal life, revealing that her marriage has faced difficulties. Although she has been legally married to Toyin Obaniyi since 2003, the couple lives apart and shares three children.
“Marriage has been very challenging. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never felt it,” she admitted.
She added, “I can do a lot for a man as long as he treats me with respect.”
