A Nigerian mother of three has been reportedly abducted in Abuja, sparking widespread discussion on social media due to the unusual circumstances of the incident.

According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @bolanlecole, the woman allegedly lied to her husband, telling him she was traveling to Ibadan, but secretly traveled to Abuja to meet her boyfriend. She was reportedly kidnapped while on the way, and the abductors demanded a significant ransom.

The post detailing the incident and seeking public advice read:

“Mother of 3 told her husband she was going to Ibadan, travelled to Abuja to see her boyfriend. Was kidnapped at Abuja, demanded for 50m ransom. Lover cannot raise it, husband refused to pay. Children are begging him to pay, please advise him.”

The situation escalated as the boyfriend was reportedly unable to raise the ₦50 million ransom. The victim’s husband allegedly refused to pay, despite their children pleading with him to intervene for their mother’s release.

The viral post generated massive reactions, with users offering strong, varied advice to the husband.

One commenter, @Saint hris, advised payment solely for the children’s well-being:

“My advice: Pay the ransom if he can, not for her, but for the sake of the children. After that, he can choose how to move forward — even if it means walking away from the marriage. Actions have consequences, but so does silence. Sometimes, mercy speaks louder than revenge.”

Another user, @EzeSamuel89, introduced conditions:

“This one hot but for the sake of the children you have to pay only when you have done the DNA to confirm they are yours then after her release the marriage will be over.”

A third user, @lemekeosborn1, suggested outright denial:

“As long as I’m concerned my wife is in Ibadan. Whoever they have there is not my wife and I don’t know her. Even if she says soemthing she and I alone knows,l still don’t know.”
