A chat allegedly involving Olawumi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer-songwriter Mohbad, has surfaced online.

The conversation was shared on Instagram by Nollywood actor and human rights activist, Yomi Fabiyi.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, but the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear despite multiple court hearings and police investigations.

In a chat dated December 11, 2024, Mohbad’s brother, Adura, claimed he possesses a video of an altercation between the singer and Cynthia. He reportedly demanded 3 million naira before releasing the footage. According to Adura, the video allegedly shows Olawumi pushing Mohbad, causing him to hit his head on the floor.

The message read:

“Hello Mr activist. I’ve a video of the fight with Cynthia and my brother. I want 3 million naira before I send the video. The video get where Wunmi push my brother and e use his head nack floor.”

It is worth noting that Naira Marley was cleared of any involvement in Mohbad’s death. On February 18, 2025, a Yaba magistrate court found no evidence linking him, Sam Larry, or Primeboy to the singer’s passing.

Following the ruling, attention has shifted to an auxiliary nurse and a friend, who are still facing legal charges related to the case.
