- A groom-to-be called off his wedding just days before the ceremony after his fiancée rejected his request to include his sister as a bridesmaid.
- Despite efforts to persuade her, she remained adamant, leading him to cancel the marriage plans entirely.

A wedding ceremony that was just days away from taking place was abruptly canceled after a disagreement between a couple over bridal party arrangements.
According to a social media post by Aku N’esi Obi Ike, the groom-to-be called off his wedding after his fiancée refused his request to have one of his sisters serve as a bridesmaid. Despite repeated attempts to convince her, the bride-to-be stood firm in her decision, leading the man to ultimately cancel the marriage.
The post explained that the groom had already spoken with his sister about being part of the bridal train and was disappointed by his partner’s refusal. After days of discussions with no compromise reached, he felt it was best to end the marriage before it began.
The incident has sparked debate online, with many questioning why such a “trivial” issue could destroy a relationship that had already reached the stage of fixing dates and sending out invitations.

In other news….Social media is buzzing after reports showed that the price of imported rice has dropped in some Nigerian markets.
A market survey on Thursday revealed that a 50kg bag, previously sold at ₦85,000–₦90,000, now goes for between ₦56,000–₦62,000.
The news sparked jubilation among some supporters of President Bola Tinubu, who credited his administration. On X, @UnclePamilerin wrote: “Rice prices are finally dropping, minimum wage can buy a bag now. Step by step, we’re getting there. Nigeria will work in our lifetime.”
Another user, @Mz_Tosyn, added: “I said rice is 57k, people that they are still feeding are arguing in my mention 🤦🏾♀️. Me that I bought 3 bags yesterday vs someone that is still collecting allowance.”
Critics, however, argued that rice remains expensive compared to previous years, dismissing the celebration as premature.

@Uptownoflagos argued: “You’re celebrating that minimum wage for a month can now buy a bag of rice? Where’s 10 years ago, minimum wage could buy 3 bags of rice, transport, feed and 5% for savings. Are we playing in this country?”
