A Nigerian lady, Ruth, has shared on TikTok how she began selling akara, yam, potatoes, and pap on the streets after her father chased her and her mother from their home.
She also works as a tailor but cannot further her education due to lack of sponsorship. “My name is Ruth, I fry akara, potatoes and yam and I make pap and I’m also a tailor. I’m not in school for now, no one to sponsor me, that’s why I’m doing this business to help my living,” she said.
Ruth expressed her dream of attending the Nigeria Defence Academy in Kaduna State to become a soldier. Speaking on her most painful memory, she recalled, “The saddest day in my life was the day my dad drove us away from the house, beat us.”
Despite her struggles, she remains hopeful. “I believe that one day, I’ll make it in life, I’ll be bigger than this and the world will see it. I’m proud of my mum, she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” she said.
