Lagos State Government has warned that many Lekki residents who drill boreholes may be consuming contaminated water.

Everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water,” Adegbite said, stressing the urgent need for wastewater treatment systems in the area to prevent possible disease outbreaks.

Adegbite admitted the government is still battling flooding despite heavy investments, citing unusual August rainfall as a factor.
