Nigerian social media critic, Daniel Regha, has waded into the ongoing “Justice for Mohbad” saga, which continues to stir controversy online.
The drama intensified after VDM and actress Iyabo Ojo engaged in a heated exchange on social media. The clash began when VDM shared a post recounting his encounter with the actress at a police station, a move that reportedly provoked her.
According to VDM, Iyabo Ojo had agreed to issue a public apology as part of efforts to clear Naira Marley’s name but allegedly went back on her word. In response, Iyabo Ojo went live on social media to give her version of events, which contradicted VDM’s claims. The disagreement soon escalated into an online back-and-forth, with Naira Marley also dropping subtle jabs.
Adding his voice to the controversy, Daniel Regha resurfaced an old tweet from the late Mohbad, where the singer expressed frustration over how he was treated while under the Marlian Music label.
As at 2022, a year before he died, he wrote:
“The events of the last two days have left indelible scars in my heart. I have always just wanted to create good music and to provide for my family and myself through my music. As an Artiste from the street, I thought the Marlian Family would be a good place for me.”
