The couple held their traditional wedding last year in a lavish event graced by prominent figures across Nigeria. The ceremony, which exuded luxury and elegance, went viral after photos and videos surfaced online.
Recently, Davido’s aide, Isreal DMW, teased fans with hints about the upcoming celebration, revealing that the white wedding is set to hold on a Miami beach in August.
Speaking about the event, Davido stated that there is no set budget for the wedding and jokingly told his critics to “get their buckets ready” ahead of the big day.
The Afrobeats singer, who recently concluded his “Timeless” 5ive album tour, also received congratulatory messages from friends and fans online. Many predicted the wedding would be a historic celebration, with some humorously saying it would make people shed tears of admiration.
One playful fan even mentioned Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama, suggesting she should prepare her “Geepee” water tank instead of a bucket. Others joined in, saying towels, not handkerchiefs, would be needed to wipe the anticipated tears.
This playful jab comes after the long-standing custody dispute between Davido and Sophia Momodu over their daughter, Imade Adeleke. The case, which went to court over custody and financial demands, was eventually resolved with the intervention of Dele Momodu, Sophia’s uncle. Davido later posted heartwarming photos and videos of his reunion with Imade after two years apart.
