- Burna Boy, an afrofusion star, may be taking steps towards settling down.
- Grammy winner, known for his brash confidence, recently sparked buzz with a video of flashing a large luxury ring on his “wedding finger.”

Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy may be inching closer to settling down, if recent developments are anything to go by.
A video of the Grammy-winning artist showing off a dazzling $2 million ring on his “wedding finger” has reignited speculation about his relationship status and thoughts on marriage. Dressed in a sleek all-black outfit, Burna Boy used the moment to send a clear message: any woman looking to marry him must come with serious intention and serious cash.
“Show me one female that would have put this ring on my finger. This is what my marriage is worth. If you want to marry me, you’re bringing the ring because I already gave myself a ring. It is $2m, so you have to beat it before I love you and we can have children,” he said boldly.
While the statement raised eyebrows, it also hinted at a shift in mindset for the “Last Last” crooner, who has previously expressed hesitations about starting a family.
During his 2025 birthday celebration on July 2, Burna Boy reflected on fatherhood, jokingly saying:
“Na so Jowizaza follow me talk the last time, I come dey think my life. I don dey old oh, I for begin born pikin.”
This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has opened up about his desire to build a family, but with caution. In a 2024 livestream, he admitted that he wasn’t ready for kids yet, citing the deep love and presence his parents gave him as a standard he hasn’t yet met.
“I don’t want to have kids yet. Have you seen my mum and dad, the way they love me? I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living,” he said at the time.
Even earlier, in a 2020 tweet, the singer echoed similar thoughts:
“Just want to be as good a parent to my children as my parents were and still are to me and my sisters. Until I’m confident that I can be stable and settle with the mother of my kids, I can’t have any kids.”
Whether or not marriage is around the corner, Burna Boy seems to be thinking more seriously about love, commitment, and legacy and for him, that all starts with self-worth.
