Atiku Using Political Charlatans to Hijack Party — ADC’s Kachikwu

  • He insisted that the group’s actions are a fraudulent attempt to deceive Nigerians, including former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, into believing that Atiku is the only viable path to electoral victory.

ADC’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has slammed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of undermining power rotation and equity in Nigeria by eyeing the 2027 presidency under the ADC.

At a press briefing, Kachikwu alleged Atiku has historically opposed southern leadership, referencing his actions against Obasanjo’s second term, Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency, and refusal to support southern candidates post-Buhari.

He challenged Atiku to publicly support a southern presidency for the next six years, doubting he would do so.

Kachikwu also warned against attempts to hijack the ADC by a group offering ₦20 million to state chairmen to step down, alleging it’s part of a plan to position Atiku through deceit and media manipulation.

Dismissing claims he’s a proxy for President Tinubu, Kachikwu reiterated that the ADC is not for sale, emphasizing the party’s commitment to youth-driven, progressive leadership ahead of 2027.
