Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has stirred controversy with his reaction to a viral video featuring Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, serving food at an event in Imo State.
The clip, which has been making rounds on social media, shows the former Anambra State governor carrying trays of food and warmly interacting with guests as he helps distribute meals.
While many Nigerians viewed the gesture as an example of humility and simplicity, Seyi Law took a sarcastic jab at the act. Reposting the video on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the comedian wrote:
“This is the height of humility. Na today I confirm sey Peter Obi really humble,”
The comment quickly drew backlash from Obi’s supporters, who filled the comment section with criticism, defending their candidate’s character and consistency. Many insisted that Obi has always been down-to-earth and accessible, both in and out of office.
Seyi Law, known for blending comedy with political commentary, has made headlines in the past for his outspoken views, particularly during and after the 2023 general elections. His latest remark adds to the growing list of celebrity reactions surrounding Peter Obi’s public image.
