JAMB Under Fire Over Allegations Against UTME Top Anambra Scorer Chinedu Okeke

Chinedu Okeke, the top scorer in the 2025 UTME with 375 marks, is at the center of a controversy after JAMB raised suspicions of foul play in his results.

JAMB revealed that Okeke had previously gained admission to study Medicine at UNN in 2024, prompting questions about his 2025 exam.

However, education tech expert Alex Onyia defended Okeke, stating that he was affected by a systems glitch during the UTME and had to reprint his exam slip and take a repeat test, in which he scored 375.

Onyia added that any data discrepancies linked to Okeke stemmed from an earlier issue in 2021 involving incorrect information from the NIN platform, which was corrected by JAMB.

“Chinedu filled all the required documents appropriately, and his updated details were transmitted to JAMB. The inconsistencies were not his doing,” Onyia stated.

Onyia urged the board to investigate thoroughly and consider apologizing to Okeke for questioning his integrity, emphasizing that the student followed due process and was not at fault for the inconsistencies.
