Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has released another gripping interview in his ongoing investigation into the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad. The latest video features Ayobami Sodiq, better known as Spending, a close friend of the late artist who was reportedly detained for four months following the tragic incident.
VDM, who began his deep dive into the case shortly after speaking with Sam Larry an associate of Naira Marley has continued to spotlight key individuals connected to Mohbad. He previously interviewed the driver of the Prado Jeep that took Mohbad to an event, as well as Prime Boy. Now, Spending has come forward to share his side of the story.
In the emotional interview, Spending recalled the night Mohbad injured his hand by punching a window in a moment of frustration. By morning, the injury had worsened, and his hand had swollen significantly. Despite efforts to get medical help, Mohbad refused to go to the hospital.
Spending said he attempted to contact a nurse, but his message didn’t deliver. Meanwhile, another friend, DJ Bammy, searched for pharmacies that offered home service but found none. He later bought cotton wool and spirit to tend to Mohbad’s injury the last time he would see the singer alive.
Eventually, the nurse replied, explaining she was unavailable as she was studying in Cotonou. Her contact had already been shared with Adura, Mohbad’s brother, and DJ Bammy.
The next morning, Spending got a call from Bammy saying Mohbad was being rushed to the hospital. That was the final update he received before news of Mohbad’s death broke.
In the video, which has since gone viral and stirred public reaction, VDM asked Spending if he believed the injury could have led to the singer’s death. Spending firmly stated that the wound on Mohbad’s hand was not severe enough to be fatal.
