Nigerian rapper Dandizzy has voiced deep concern over the increasing level of hardship in the country, stating that begging has reached an all-time high even among employed citizens.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the rapper described how alarming the situation has become, saying that even people with jobs such as receptionists, security guards, waiters, and sometimes their supervisors now resort to begging for money.

In his words:
“We’ve never had begging this bad in Nigeria. They’re literally begging you every corner and I mean people with jobs… People are poor and their salaries are not enough. God abeg!!”

His post reflects growing frustration over the deteriorating economic conditions in Nigeria, where even gainfully employed individuals are unable to meet basic needs.

The message struck a chord with many online users, who echoed similar experiences and shared stories about the rising cost of living and stagnant wages.

Dandizzy’s comment joins a wave of public outcry over the economic hardship facing millions of Nigerians, with inflation, unemployment, and food insecurity continuing to worsen across the nation.

In other news, Nigerian music sensation Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has revealed that his passion for music and dance started at a remarkably young age. Speaking during a recent appearance on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast hosted by Joey Akan, the singer shared that he began sneaking out to attend parties when he was just nine years old.

“At that age, I already loved Afrobeats and Dancehall,” Ruger recounted. “I used to sneak out to parties just to dance. I wasn’t even 10 yet, but I could move my body and really loved the vibe.”

Ruger gained widespread recognition in 2021 following the release of his hit track Bounce. That breakout moment led to a record deal with Jonzing World, under which he also dropped his debut EP Pandemic, establishing him as a rising star in the Afrobeats scene.

In 2024, Ruger parted ways with Jonzing World after reported tensions with label boss D’Prince. He has since launched his own record label, Blown Boy Entertainment, marking a new chapter in his musical career.
