  • Witnesses claim the tenant was not owing rent, sparking online debate over tenancy rights and safety.

A heated altercation between a female tenant and her 81-year-old landlady has sparked reactions online after a video of the incident surfaced.

The footage shows the elderly woman allegedly attacking the younger tenant during a dispute at a residential compound.

According to accounts from a neighbour and the tenant’s sister, the conflict followed a quit notice issued to the tenant about two months earlier. The tenant was reportedly in the process of moving out when the confrontation occurred.

Witnesses claimed the landlady blocked the tenant from leaving the premises, despite reports that the tenant was not owing any rent.

Reacting to the incident, the tenant’s sister said:

“My sister doesn’t owe any rent, so I don’t know why she’s doing this. She has been violent to her for the past two years, but my sister cannot do anything to her because she is 81 years old.”

Observers at the scene alleged that the situation turned physical, with the elderly woman reportedly striking and biting the tenant while dragging her clothes. The younger woman was said to have remained calm and avoided retaliating.

The sister further claimed:

“She kept on biting her and dragging her clothes. She prays and calls ‘Jesus, Jesus’, but she’s not behaving normally.”

In other news… A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to express her frustration over the country’s rising cost of living, highlighting how it has impacted her personal finances.

In a heartfelt post, she said:

“We’re gradually adapting to hardship and we’re not loud about it. I no longer have savings because I have to spend for fuel. Cost of living is about to cost the living. Is this the mandate we’re supposed to blindly follow? And there’s people supporting this mandate.”

Her comments reflect growing concerns among citizens struggling with daily expenses, particularly the rising cost of fuel and essential goods.
