1. Mount Royal University

The Mount Royal University (MRU) began its journey over a hundred years in 1910. Its main campus is sited at Lincoln Park in southwest Calgary.

At an approximate distance of 15 miles from the main campus exists a second campus belonging to the rural community of Springbank. The public university currently has a student population north of 14,000, with the average class size being 31.

At MRU, a total of 12 degrees and 32 majors are offered through its five academic faculties: Health, Community and Education; Business and Communication Studies; Continuing Education and Extension; Science and Technology; and Arts.

Its Interior Design, Communication, and Nursing programs are a cut above the rest. To help students lower the cost of their education, the university annually disburses more than $3 million in scholarships and bursaries.
