Legendary singer 2Baba recently celebrated his wife, Natasha, with a quiet but heartfelt birthday gathering.
As earlier reported by GistLover, the Edo-born politician marked another year, and 2Baba made sure the day was memorable for her. He expressed that words could hardly capture the depth of love and support she has shown him.
The award-winning musician professed his deep affection for Natasha and said he looks forward to building the rest of his life with her.
Photos from the intimate celebration have surfaced online, showing friends and family who joined the couple for the occasion.
Natasha Osawaru’s birthday comes shortly after 2Baba’s estranged wife, Nollywood actress Annie Idibia now known as Annie Macaulay turned 41 on Thursday, November 13. Annie shared a stunning photo of herself in a red dress styled by her friend and celebrity stylist Swanky Jerry.
In another report, 2Baba reflected on his hit song African Queen, describing it as both a blessing and a challenge throughout his career. During an appearance on the Entertainment & Lifestyle show, he explained that while the 2004 classic defined his rise to fame, it also brought its own complications.
“That song has been a huge blessing and has also become a problem for me,” he said. “But like I always say, I’m grateful for everything.”
Although African Queen remains his most iconic track, 2Baba noted that he has created many other songs that fans deeply connect with.
Released in 2004 on his debut solo album Face 2 Face, African Queen pushed him onto the global stage, earning him major honours including BET, MTV Europe, and MOBO awards — making him the first African artist to win all three.
Despite its success, the song has been surrounded by controversy, especially with former Plantashun Boiz member Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo (Blackface) repeatedly accusing him of stealing it. 2Baba has consistently dismissed the allegations, insisting the track was a collaborative creation during their time as a group.
The debate resurfaced again in August 2025 when Billboard named African Queen the Greatest Afrobeats Song of All Time.
