Senator Orji Uzor Kalu says the 2027 presidential election will be a “one-man race,” declaring it “Tinubu vs Tinubu.”

Speaking at the National Assembly, the Abia North senator insisted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu currently has no strong opposition ahead of his re-election bid.

Kalu compared the situation to the recent Anambra election, where Governor Charles Soludo won with little resistance.

He argued that the APC remains firmly supported nationwide and credited Tinubu’s leadership for policies he believes are beginning to stabilize the economy and improve security.

“Has he gotten anyone contesting against him? The election is Tinubu vs Tinubu… Our party is fully on ground and with the people,” he said.

His remarks have stirred reactions in political circles, with many seeing them as a bold early show of confidence in the president’s 2027 prospects.
